Development progress of ecoDMS incl. WORKZ Add-on and API


System Requirements ecoDMS Download
The document management system ecoDMS build 22.08 is a new rolling release. For more information, read the following changelog.

New Features:

Highlighting in a PDF:
  • Highlight text passages in various colours in the PDF editor for annotations (you can access the feature through the dedicated preview pane and through the preview in the Tile view: PDF Editor)
  • Include highlights when downloading documents
  • Filter and search for highlights (in desktop and web clients)
  • Add notes to highlights
  • View highlights in preview
  • View highlights and notes when exporting PDFs
Highlight Report:
  • Create a highlight report based on the highlights
Redact PDFs:
  • Black out documents in whole or in part and save them to the new “Redacted” tab (feature available only via the separate preview pane: PDF Editor)
  • The blacked-out information is saved in the “Redacted” tab, which is also visible in the preview pane.
  • Open redacted version
  • Export redacted version
Annotations:
  • You can edit annotations in the PDF editor
  • Settings for font, colour, etc. in the new Settings dialogue in the PDF editor
Preview Pane:
  • You can minimise the feature area
  • You can scale the boundary between the preview and the features below

API

  • Upload documents to the inbox via API (/uploadFileToInbox)
  • Output the classification of a document in the inbox (/getInboxClassifications)
  • Classify a document in the inbox (/classifyInboxDocument)
  • Archive a document in the inbox (/moveInboxFileToArchive)
  • Output the roles assigned to a user (/rolesForUser)
  • Output the users assigned to a role (/usersForRole)
  • Output the folder permissions for a folder (/folderRoles)
  • Set folder permissions for a folder (/setFolderRoles)

Bugfixes

  • The logon of the first AD user created a second user logon.
  • Archiving files with less than 3 characters in the file name using drag & drop or the “Archive” button returned an error.
  • Moving more than 100 documents to the Trash returned the error message “Permission denied”.
  • Fixed document rotation when archiving via Scaninput.
  • The “Extend Search” sometimes opened the calendar.
  • Fixed error for the option “Keyword Recognition (Folder)”.
  • Fixed error for internal links with special characters in the file name (comment box).
  • The “Create OCR” feature did not include graphics in the document header.
  • API: When uploading documents with umlauts in the file name (comment box), the name was displayed incorrectly.
  • When attributes were disabled, sometimes no automatic archiving via template was executed.
  • In Activities, the “To Do” entry was sometimes deleted.
  • Under certain circumstances, the ecoDMS Client has closed (during classification).

Improvements

  • Notes for encrypted documents when applying annotations, highlights, or black outs.
  • Copying to the comment box (in the classification dialog) prefixed a space character.
  • API: Adapted the error message for /addVersionToDocument and /addVersion(WithPdf)ToDocument if the version was not created.
