Development progress of ecoDMS incl. WORKZ Add-on and API


System Requirements ecoDMS Download
The rolling release build 21.12 for our document management system ecoDMS is now available. For more information, refer to the changelog.

Installation Information for ecoDMS Build 21.12:

  • Always read the notes and steps in the installation manual.
  • Before updating / upgrading, you must create a full and clean backup.
  • Always read the system requirements before installing the programme. Make sure that your system environment complies with the ecoDMS requirements.

System Requirements

  • Added support for the following operating systems: Windows 11, Windows Server 2022 Standard
  • Attention: Dropped support for Debian 9 (Stretch)

New Features (General)

  • In the Settings dialogue, a new admin overview displays logged-in users and lists active sessions
  • The new snapshot feature archives and full-text indexes snapshots
  • Use the folder tree (context menu) to mass classify all documents in a folder (incl. subfolders)
  • New system permission: “Share Document via Internet”
  • In the modern Card view you can sort by classification attributes
  • Archive X-invoices
  • Dynamically set date fields within classification templates
  • Added the apostrophe as a 1000 separator for numeric fields
  • Terminal server: Configuration for document links

Bug Fixes (General)

  • An error occurred when exporting data from the 3rd folder level and lower
  • Missing DocID icons (Ubuntu 18.04)
  • Not possible to select a background image for annotations on Linux
  • ecoDMS Client lost the document selection under certain circumstances
  • Documents could not be dragged from the archive into the ecoDMS chat
  • The backup function returned an error (after distribution upgrade from Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04)
  • Drag and drop from the ecoDMS Offline Client crashed the client
  • ecoDMS Client crashed when clicking "Activities" in the recycle bin
  • Users with administrator permissions could not unlock locked documents under certain circumstances
  • Classification attributes with checkbox were not considered for export
  • The Thunderbird add-on did not archive open emails
  • Clicking "Update" in ecoDMS Client started a new process (ecoWORKZ)
  • Resubmission: Correction of the calendar window
  • Under certain circumstances, the ecoDMS Client on macOS crashed

Bugfixes (ecoDMS Webclient)

  • Save button was covered in Safari browser
  • On iOS, the "Archive" button was missing in the Webclient
  • iOS: Navigation froze under certain circumstances
  • Resubmission: Calendar window now opens
  • The display on smart phones was not correct under certain circumstances
  • iOS / Chrome: No ecoWORKZ button displayed
  • iOS / Chrome: Clicking a filtered folder truncated the folder names
  • iOS / Chrome: "Back" button overlapped "Exit" button

Improvements / Optimisations (General)

  • Improvement of barcode recognition (artificial intelligence)
  • "Separate Documents with Barcode" now forces the activation of "Recognise Separator Page"
  • The search for "edited by" now works with a dropdown menu
  • Optimisation in case of connection failure with Active Directory / LDAP
  • PDF forms: Content may not have been displayed
  • Settings: The term "Mobile" has been removed
  • Adjustment of mandatory fields: Only attributes that are not set by the server can be selected
  • Template designer: Correction of the behaviour with large QR codes
  • Sending emails from Outlook: Additional attachments could not be pulled into emails
  • The classification dialogue window now maintains its size
  • The "Sharing via Internet" process is recorded in the activities
  • The Temp directory (Windows) bloated due to ecoDMS files under certain circumstances
  • The ecoDMS server directory "contentstore" (cache) is cleared each time the server starts

  • Multiple classification: A full-text search only returned the first hit
  • Adjusting the Qt version to fix issues resulting from different or high resolutions
  • The Thunderbird add-on is now compatible with Thunderbird 91.x
  • The "Discard OCR" option did not remove the existing OCR
